Autumn Music
Autumn is the only season of the year that I associate with specific music, certain albums, and exact songs.
Some music has the power to bring back exact feelings, and I suppose that, for whatever reason, I remember feelings from past autumns more clearly than from any other time of my life.
I don't mean that I remember certain exact events or specific periods of my life when I hear certain music. It's more abstract than that. What I mean is that there is certain music that I associate with memories of a very specific feeling. It's sort of a placid, melancholy longing that I can't define or explain, and the only thing I'm sure of is that I associate it with autumn.
These are my "autumn albums." This is the music that I always want to hear in the fall of the year, and I invariably find myself digging through my CD collection, trying to find these albums, by the beginning of each October.
Am I a lone nutcase, out on a limb with this topic? Or, do you have your own specific autumn music as well? If so, I'd love to hear about it. Please leave comments.

Right off the top of my head, I can only think of two. They are Barenaked Ladies' "Maroon" and Lyle Lovett's "The Road to Enscenda." I sure do love fall though.
I go through phases with albums autonomous of seasons, and I get so busy at work most days I forget I have a drawer full of CDs. =(
That being said, you now have me wanting to dig out AiC Dirt, Temple of the Dog, and yes even Candlebox...unfortunately, believe it or not, those were all from my pre-CD days in college(I'm always behind the times) and I only have them on cassette. I really SHOULD own Dirt and Temple on CD--no excuses...

Hmmm, I don't think my musical tastes are seasonal, but they certainly go in phases. Most of those albums you mentioned were big when I was just graduating high school and starting college. Just seeing the covers makes me want to dig them out and listen to them!
Got my heart broken one September with the title track from The Unforgettable Fire by U2 playing in the background.
The bleak piano intro and melancholy string arrangements still sting a little even today.
I did run into this girl a couple years back though and it was clear to both of us that I had aged better. Muhahhahahaaaahahha

My musical tastes aren't seasonal, but they are obsessive. If I like a group, I get everything I can by them & listen to them until I get sick of it.
