To Make Glorious Blog Of Movie Film Critic Geek Return

Wendy and I just watched Borat, and if there's anything that ought to get me blogging about movies again over at film geeks, this oughta do it. Oh, my Lord we laughed so hard and for just about all of the movie's 87 minute running time. I can't remember the last time a movie made me laugh this hard. It's easily the funniest movie I've seen since The 40 Year Old Virgin, and it's arguably even funnier than that. Wendy says she doesn't think she's ever laughed this hard at a movie.

Now, fair warning … this is not a movie for everyone. It's vulgar, profane and extremely offensive by just about any standard. One scene in particular, involving a naked fight in hotel, is simultaneously disgusting, horrifying and so funny that I had a hard time breathing because I couldn't stop laughing. This is the kind of movie that makes me always remember the first time I saw it. Borat really does live up to the hype.

I felt the same way! I saw this in the theater and there were some grey haired folk that gasped and groaned and others that had no idea that Borat was a bade up character that Sasha becomes. But I cried! I was laughing so hard at times that tears streamed down my face.

On par with this is Jackass 2. If you and your honey have not seen it yet add it to the top of your que.

I liked it so much I splurged and bought the dvd...at full price!

so far, I haven't been able to make myself watch it as my squeamish quotient and my don't-make-fun-of-minorities quotient are at an all time high.

Maybe when David gets back from his weekend trip, we could try it. We could use a good laugh.

I had my hands over my eyes during the hotel fight, watching between fingers, horrified, disgusted, and laughing my ass off. I can't believe how far they took that, and when you realize they did a lot of this in front of real people who didn't know what was going on, it's so much more awesome.

Also, for some reason I really really liked the part with the little kids, the ice cream truck, and the bear. So Simpsonesque.
